A team of 4 Wargrave players were invited today to join Twyford in a friendly game of rinks against 125th Anniversary touring Bedwellty Park Bowls Club ![]()
What a fantastic afternoon. At times slightly soggy but mostly dry, the half Wargrave, half Twyford team of Chez, Allan, Wayne and Keith battled against the skills of Ian, Paul and Martin from Bedwellty. With some highly contested heads including one end decided by a slither of paper, Wargrave won 11 out of 18 ends but lost the overall rink by 2.![]()
Afterwards, thanks were given to Twyford for their hospitality before the Bedwellty team then handed out their "tour fines", which included penalties for new tourees leaving their comfort Teddy, being boring to the other team and changing into a Man Utd shirt after the match! The Tour Dragon was given to the lowest scoring rink whose penalty were to wear glittery ties and fake noses home!![]()
